In this project, students will work individually to design and fabricate a full scale modular system that defines specific performances, i.e. filtering light and view. The project is divided into two parts. The first part is to design a module and a modular network system (2.5 weeks ~ 5 classes). The second part is to design and construct a full scale prototype (2.5 weeks ~ 5 classes).
The physical construction of prototypes begins with studies using standard dimensional materials and rule based systems (aggregation and modularity) to generate formal systems. Central to this project is the documentation of the system, variations of the system, and the relationship between parts and the behavior of parts relate to a global assembly.
